China-based Sineng Electric signed a 249 MW central inverter supply agreement with Hassan Allam for the 1.65 GW Benban Solar Park in Egypt under the Nubian Suns Feed-in Tariff program. The project is located in Benban, Egypt, one of the country’s highest solar irradiation zones. Once fully operational, the 1.65 GW solar park is expected to generate approximately 3.8 TWh annually. Under the agreement, Sineng Electric will deliver 27 units of 8.8 MW MV turnkey stations and 2 units of 4.4 MW MV turnkey stations. The integrated solution combines central inverter, transformer and medium-voltage switchgear. The system supports DC/AC ratio of up to 1.8. The inverter operates without derating at ambient temperatures of up to 52 °C and carries an IP65 protection rating suited for desert conditions.
