Shangneng Electric, a China-based power electronics company, has signed to supply core PV inverters for Saudi Arabia’s PIF 6 project cluster. The cluster developed by ACWA Power, Public Investment Fund and Aramco Power includes Bisha at 2.37 GW and Humaij at 664 MW, with total installed capacity of up to 3 GW. Shangneng Electric has provided an 8.8 MW medium-voltage integrated whole-station solution integrating two 4.4 MW centralized inverters with transformers and ring main units. The company said it has established a localisation structure across the Middle East and Africa including regional headquarters, sales offices and service networks. Shangneng Electric said cumulative contracted capacity in the region has surpassed 10 GW through participation in multiple renewable deployments.
