Serbia’s second renewables auction has awarded 645 MW of wind and solar capacity, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and co-funded by Switzerland’s SECO. Investors submitted 41 project proposals, surpassing the 424.8 MW quota for both solar and wind power. The auction included 7 wind and 34 solar project applications, with highly competitive bids. The offered prices were as low as €50.9 (~$53.5) per MWh for solar and €53.6 (~$56.2) per MWh for wind. The projects are designed under an incentive model, eliminating subsidies and ensuring state returns when market prices exceed auction rates. In Serbia, the EBRD remains a key investor, having invested €9.8 (~$10.29 billion) billion across 372 projects.
