Jeddah, Saudi Arabia headquartered Saudia Dairy & Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) and Yellow Door Energy have signed a solar lease to supply electricity to seven SADAFCO facilities across Saudi Arabia. The 2.9 MW project will serve ice cream and milk factories in Jeddah and a tomato paste factory in Dammam. It will also supply a regional distribution center in Riyadh and depots in Yanbu, Tabuk and Makkah. More than 4,700 solar panels will be installed across 13 connection points. Once completed, the system is expected to generate 4.9 million kWh in the first year and reduce carbon emissions by 1,830 metric tons. According to the company the project construction will begin next month and is expected to be completed before the end of 2026. Under this agreement, Yellow Door Energy is responsible for financing, design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the solar plants.
