R.Power Renewables, a European Independent Power Producer, has begun construction of the 20 MW Klotze Solar Park in Saxony-Anhalt. The project represents its first utility-scale PV development in Germany. The project held a 20-year EEG support contract and expanded the company’s national portfolio, which exceeded 115 MW. Once operational, the Klotze site was expected to supply electricity to several thousand households. The development also formed part of R.Power Renewables’ broader plan to strengthen its presence in Western Europe through additional renewable infrastructure. R.Power had a pipeline of 32 GW across its project portfolio. Around 1.7 GW of this capacity was operating or under construction. Approximately 10.5 GW had already secured grid connection.
