Q ENERGY, a European renewable energy company, has opened the 8.5 MW Cahuzac-sur-Adour solar park in Occitanie. The project was developed on a former quarry site covering 7.5 hectares. The plant has 14,500 panels and supplies electricity for nearly 5,000 people. It avoids around 2,600 tons of COâ‚‚ each year and supports France’s 2030 renewable energy targets. The project is also aligned with Occitanie’s goal of becoming an energy-positive region by 2050. Cahuzac is the first Q ENERGY solar park in the Gers department. The company has long been active in the region with 12 solar parks and 14 wind farms. These facilities have provided renewable energy access for nearly 400,000 people. The new site includes ecological measures such as wildlife-friendly fencing, amphibian barriers and vegetation improvements.
