The PNE Group, Clean energy solutions provider, sold a 40 MW solar project in Poland to ORLEN through its local subsidiary, PNE Polska, with the transaction completed on 19 January 2026. The deal covers the sale of 100% of the shares in the project company RES Project 5, which holds the rights to develop and operate the solar farm near ORLEN’s refinery in Płock. The project is designed to supply electricity directly to the refinery via a behind-the-meter connection, avoiding use of the public grid and associated regulatory processes. PNE developed the project to ready-to-build-plus stage, with detailed technical design and prepared EPC offers in place. ORLEN plans to select a contractor in 2026, with commissioning scheduled for 2028, marking the first direct transaction between PNE Group and ORLEN S.A.
