German renewables developer, PNE AG had sold its Panamanian entity through a management buyout led by the local Managing Director. The transaction included the service company and six wind and photovoltaic projects. The sale marked the end of PNE Group’s activities in Panama, which had begun in 2018. The exit completed the company’s previously announced withdrawal from the market by the end of 2025. Earlier, in the third quarter of 2025, PNE had sold one wind project and two photovoltaic projects to a US-based energy supplier. The company stated that it had reviewed its international operations and had focused on selected core markets.
