Romania headquartered OMV Petrom, partner with Complexul Energetic Oltenia(CE Oltenia), have announced that the 550 MW photovoltaic projects entered into the construction phase. OMV Petrom is a subsidiary of Austria’s OMV AG. The solar parks were located in Ișalnița, Tismana and Rovinari and had a combined installed capacity of approximately 550 MW. The four projects were scheduled to become operational in 2026. The electricity generated is expected to cover the annual consumption of around 410,000 households, based on national averages. Total investment exceeded €400 million (~$ 470.87 million), with about 70% financed through the Modernisation Fund. Around €16 million (~$ 18.83 million) from this financing was received in December 2025. The partners each held a 50% stake in the projects.
