France based Océalia Cooperative Group and TSE have signed a partnership to co-develop up to 500 MW of agrivoltaic projects across the cooperative’s territory over ten years. The agreement covered the creation of a dedicated company, HORME, to develop and operate the installations. Farmers retained agricultural use of the land and accessed additional income streams. The partnership aligned with Océalia’s CAP 2030 strategy and focused on diversification of farm revenues, particularly in intermediate areas facing climate variability and limited irrigation. The projects complied with the APER Law framework and combined agricultural activity with local electricity generation within the cooperative’s regional footprint in France. The planned capacity will represent electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of nearly 120,000 households. This level of output will correspond to the demand of a large French urban area.
