Neoen, a France-based renewable energy developer and operator, has secured 66 MW of PV projects in Italy through the national FER-X renewable energy auction. The awarded portfolio includes six projects across multiple regions, comprising 50 MW of solar installations and 16 MW of agriPV developments. According to the company announcement, the two agrisolar projects represent Neoen’s first agrisolar developments in Italy. These agriPV installations allow crop farming to continue around and under solar panels occupying approximately 20% of the farmland. Following these auction awards, Neoen’s secured renewable energy portfolio in Italy has reached 211 MW including 151 MW of solar and 60 MW of battery storage. The company has also reported a development pipeline exceeding 1.8 GW of solar and storage projects across Italy.
