Masdar Renewables Sourcing FZE, part of Masdar, engaged Sinovoltaics to provide module inspection and factory audit services for two utility-scale solar projects in Azerbaijan with combined capacity exceeding 1 GW. The scope included full inspection of more than 1.6 million PV modules manufactured at JA Solar facilities, with 100 % electroluminescence testing and traceability assessments. Inspections were carried out using Sinovoltaics’ SELMA system to identify defects across the entire module supply rather than sample-based checks. Module production was completed in January, with shipments scheduled to reach site by the end of the month. The approach is intended to reduce technical, financial and scheduling risks associated with large-scale solar deployments.
