Masdar, a UAE-based renewable energy developer, has led a consortium advancing Oman’s Ibri III project. Masdar said the group awarded the EPC contract to CPECC, China-based engineering company, for the 500 MW solar plant and 100 MWh storage system. CPECC was selected after the consortium evaluated proposals aligned with project timelines. Nama PWP, Oman’s state procurement utility, had signed the PPA in September 2025 with the Masdar-led consortium. The partners included Al Khadra Partners, KOMIPO and OQAE, which were involved in project structuring. The Ibri III facility is expected to support grid needs once operational. Masdar stated that the project design was intended to serve around 33,000 homes annually.
