LONGi, a Chinese solar technology company, has recently received the German Excellence Award 2026 for its 500 W EcoLife residential PV module. The award was issued in the Energy and Environment category following an assessment conducted by the German Institute for Service Quality and DUP Unternehmer. The validation process considered innovation quality, customer relevance, sustainability, and long-term viability, and concluded with an award ceremony in Hamburg on 26 January 2026. The disclosure states that the EcoLife module is the world’s first commercially available residential PV module based on HIBC technology. The 500 W module delivers more than 25% efficiency and has been designed for residential rooftops with space constraints. According to the filing, the module has been tested for snow loads up to 6,000 Pa and wind loads up to 3,600 Pa. It also meets Fire Class A requirements. The EcoLife module is backed by a 30-year product and performance warranty. Recently, LONGi is supplying PV modules for Solarpro’s 450 MW utility-scale solar project in Hungary’s Heves county.
