Oman’s Nama PWP had selected a Masdar-led consortium to develop the Ibri III Solar IPP in Al Dhahirah. The selection was made in September under a long-term PPA with the government. CPECC was later awarded the EPC contract to implement the 500 MW project. The facility has included a 100 MWp BESS and carried an estimated OMR 115 million (~$ 299 million) investment. Masdar said the consortium included OQ Alternative Energy, KOMIPO and Al Khadra Partners. The site has spanned nearly 10 million square metres and aligned with Oman Vision 2040 goals. The project was expected to cut around 505,000 tons of COâ‚‚ each year. CPECC was already linked to major Omani projects, including Manah II Solar IPP. Ibri III was also Nama PWP’s first bundled PV-plus-storage procurement in Oman.
