Berlin headquartered Iberdrola Germany has commissioned a 65 MW solar power plant in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Its full electricity output was supplied to Salzgitter AG under a 15-year power purchase agreement covering about 900 GWh. The solar park is extended across roughly 45 hectares and consisted of more than 92,000 photovoltaic modules. The plant is expected to generate around 60 GWh of electricity annually, with all electricity integrated into Salzgitter’s steel production processes. The supply supported the company’s green steel manufacturing activities, including the SALCOS® program implemented by Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. The Construction is completed in multiple coordinated phases with project partners Solarpro, P&Q and EMT alongside regional companies involved in planning and execution.
