Switzerland based Holcim Philippines, Inc. has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Peak Energy to deploy a 25 MW behind-the-meter solar project in the Philippines. The 25 MWp project will supply electricity to Holcim’s cement plants in Bacnotan, La Union (13 MW) and Norzagaray, Bulacan (12 MW). It is expected to generate around 40 GWh of electricity annually and reduce COâ‚‚ emissions by about 28,500 tons per year. The systems are delivered under a 20-year PPA with no upfront capital from Holcim. Peak Energy will manage design, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance, while Holcim will purchase the electricity over the contract term. The arrangement is intended to lower electricity costs and integrate on-site solar generation into industrial operations without interrupting production. The project is backed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
