Spanish engineering firm, Grupo Negratín has energized and connected the Virgen del Rosario solar PV plant in Motril, Granada, with an installed capacity of 29.99 MW. The project has completed the commissioning phase and is moving toward full operation after one year of construction on irregular terrain, using 1,424 monopile structures to support 42,720 solar modules. Energy evacuation is carried out through a 9.2 km transmission line with a 786 m underground section to protect greenhouse areas and an overhead section crossing major infrastructure. The plant will supply electricity to more than 16,500 households and will avoid nearly 29,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, while strengthening the company’s presence in Spain, particularly in Andalusia.
