Grupa TAURON, Poland’s energy groups headquartered in Katowice has commissioned of its 54 MW photovoltaic farm in Bałków, lifting installed renewable capacity beyond 1 GW. The project spans over 55 hectares and includes nearly 78,000 bifacial modules. Its output corresponds to the annual electricity demand of about 27,000 households. The company is expanding across wind, solar, hydro and battery storage. An energy storage facility is planned to hybridize the Bałków site. TAURON now operates more than 1 GW across wind, solar, water and storage, with a target of climate neutrality by 2040.
