Fortis Renewable Energy BV has signed a Mandate Letter with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the potential financing of 270 MW solar PV plant. The project will be integrated with a 72 MWh battery energy storage system in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. The project represents a total capacity of 342 MW. The agreement initiates the structured financing and due diligence process required for long-term debt provision. The facility is expected to become the largest solar PV plant in Serbia and one of the largest in the Western Balkans. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2026. Commissioning is targeted for Q1 2028.
