Denmark based European Energy has completed the construction and commenced commercial operation of the Kvosted solar and battery park in Viborg Municipality, Denmark. The project integrated a 200 MWh battery system into an existing solar park that had been operating since 2022. Battery modules were installed within the solar facility to enable on-site storage of solar electricity. The stored power was intended for use during periods of low or no solar generation. European Energy EPC delivered the installation, electrical integration with the grid and supporting infrastructure. Construction activities were completed within a seven-month timeframe. The facility was energised in December 2025 and then moved into a commissioning phase to ready the battery systems for operation. The 200 MWh battery helped manage variations in solar output and matched the average daily electricity use of about 18,000 households.
