The European Union and UNDP have delivered 36 autonomous solar systems to Mykolaiv to secure water infrastructure during widespread power outages. The systems will support treatment facilities for nearly 440,000 residents in sustaining services during outages. The project is part of the 'Crisis Response for Securing Reliable Energy Access in Ukraine' programme. Officials stressed that decentralized and reliable energy solutions are vital as communities continue facing disruptions to critical municipal systems. Ukraine’s energy reconstruction needs have reached EUR 66 billion (~$76.56B), supported by a EUR 20 million (~$23.20M) EU–UNDP programme for early recovery. The partnership continues providing equipment and technical assistance to strengthen local resilience and support long-term energy-sector rehabilitation.
