Etana Energy, a South African electricity trading platform, has signed Power Purchase Agreement with Sibanye-Stillwater. The agreement is for a 10-year term. Under this agreement, Etana will deliver 220 MW of renewable energy per year to Sibanye-Stillwater’s mining operations from late 2027. The electricity will be wheeled from Etana’s solar and wind portfolio through South Africa’s national grid. The arrangement is structured to integrate with the miner’s existing and future power requirements, with the aim of reducing electricity costs and carbon emissions. The agreement was reported by Chariot Limited, which holds a 34% economic interest in Etana through its subsidiary.
