Austria based Enery has reached financial close on a €460 million (~ $533.69 million) syndicated green project financing for the Ogrezeni hybrid solar and battery project in Giurgiu County, Romania. The project will combine 761 MW of photovoltaic capacity with 534 MW AC and more than 1 GWh of battery energy storage. A consortium of seven banking groups provided the financing, including UniCredit as Global Coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator and Bookrunner. Intesa Sanpaolo Group, ING Bank N.V., Banca Transilvania, National Bank of Greece, Exim Banca Românească and Alpha Bank also participated in the syndicate. Once operational the project is expected to generate electricity equivalent to the demand of around 684,000 households and avoid about 303,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Sustain LCM Finance advised Enery on debt syndication, while Schönherr and Clifford Chance Badea served as legal advisors.
