Madrid headquartered Endesa has inaugurated the Envatios I, II and III solar plants in Carmona, Seville, with a combined capacity of 131 MW. The facilities are expected to generate 257 GWh annually which is enough to supply over 70,000 homes. The project uses solar trackers, bifacial modules and a private 220 kV substation. More than 250 people worked on construction and is supported by 341 hours of training for 204 local participants. During works, archaeologists documented 272 structures across more than one hectare, including Chalcolithic and pre-Roman remains to be transferred to the Archaeological Museum of Seville. The operational site integrates sheep grazing and beekeeping, producing certified solar honey. Solar generation in Seville accounts for 81% of Endesa’s total photovoltaic output in Andalusia, where the company now operates 15 plants.
