Egypt based Elsewedy Electric for Power Transmission & Distribution has completed the 348.6 MW El Saad solar power plant located 85 km east of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company received the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC), marking the project’s transition into the operations and maintenance phase. The utility-scale plant is developed in partnership with Jinko Power and Al Ghazala Energy Company Limited, with Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) as the offtaker. The construction is completed in 16.5 months shorter than the original 24-month project schedule. The project includes a 33/132 kV high-voltage substation and a 600 m overhead transmission line for grid integration. Key partners supporting the project included Siemens Energy, Schneider Electric Saudi Arabia, Alfanar, Elsewedy Transformers and OCA Global. The facility uses PV modules, inverters and power conversion systems integrated with protection and control infrastructure.
