Eiffage Energy Systems, an EPC contractor in Iberia, has reported progress on the EPC execution of the Valle 3 and Valle 4 photovoltaic plants. The projects were located in Wamba, Valladolid, within Spain’s Castile and León region. The combined installed capacity of the two photovoltaic plants is 330 MW. The contractual scope included full engineering and procurement responsibilities. It also covered civil works and complete electromechanical installation activities. Commissioning and final testing were included as part of the EPC contract. A 220 kV step-up substation was constructed as part of the development. The substation is connected directly to the transmission network. Once operational, the plants were expected to avoid around 124,000 tons of CO₂ annually which is equivalent in removing more than 116,000 vehicles from roads. Commercial operation was scheduled for 2027. The projects included an agrivoltaic pilot initiative. They also received recognition from UNEF Spanish Solar Association.
