Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has recorded capacity growth at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in 2025. The expansion followed an approved development plan. Installed clean energy capacity reached 3.86 GW during the year. The increase included an additional 800 MW. The new capacity used photovoltaic and concentrated solar power technologies. The solar park accounted for about 21.5% of DEWA’s total power generation capacity. The 2030 capacity target was revised to more than 7.26 GW. The earlier target stood at 5 GW. Clean energy sources were projected to supply around 34% of Dubai’s power capacity within five years. DEWA launched a tender for the seventh phase in 2025. The phase covered about 2 GW of solar with 1,400 MWh of storage. The fourth phase CSP capacity reached 700 MW. The milestone was recorded as a Guinness World Record.
