UK based ContourGlobal entered the Greek renewable energy market through the acquisition of an operating solar PV portfolio of about 37 MW across multiple locations. The portfolio comprised 26 PV plants commissioned between 2011 and 2022 and previously owned by Quest Energy, a subsidiary of Quest Holdings. All assets were fully contracted under Greece’s FiT and FiP support schemes, providing contracted revenues and expected annual electricity generation of around 51 GWh. The transaction was approved unconditionally under Greece’s new Foreign Direct Investment framework following regulatory review of energy infrastructure assets. In parallel to the solar acquisition, ContourGlobal also secured battery storage projects, but the solar portfolio formed the company’s first operating asset base in Greece and expanded its European solar footprint alongside existing operations in Italy, Spain, Austria and Bulgaria.
