China Railway Ninth Bureau Electric Power Company, a China-based power construction contractor, has secured the construction contract for the Kotofi PV project in Romania. The contract was awarded on March 5, 2026 and has been valued at €59.06 million (~ $68.51 million). The Kotofi PV development has been designed as four PV installations of 45 MW each, forming a total planned capacity of 180 MW. The Romania-based PV project site has been planned across approximately 198.1 hectares in Dorj Province, located about 190 kms from Bucharest. Earlier, on January 5, China Energy Engineering East China Institute had received the EPC general contracting notification for the same project. The project construction work has included PV installation areas, booster stations, transmission infrastructure, and relocation of existing 20 kV lines. According to the project schedule, the overall construction period has been planned for approximately 18 months before completion.
