Cero Generation, a Europe-based IPP specializing in PV and BESS, has reached financial close on the 198 MW Bumble Bee co-located renewable energy project at West Burton in the UK. The installation features 78 MW PV generation alongside a 120 MW BESS, connecting directly to the West Burton substation near Doncaster. Enso Energy, as the UK development partner, collaborated closely with Cero Generation throughout this process. JA Solar will supply the PV panels, and Sungrow Power is providing the BESS solution. A 10-year tolling agreement with ENGIE secures revenues for 70 MW / 140 MWh of the battery capacity, while ENGIE optimizes that portion. EDF handles optimization for the remaining battery and provides route-to-market services for the PV output. Project construction is set to begin in the coming months, with Metlen serving as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. Lenders including ING, NORD/LB, Rabobank, and Santander UK provided financing through Cero's Gemini portfolio facility, marking the second such deal after the 115 MW Bramley project.
