Bruc, a Madrid-based renewable energy developer, has refinanced € 474 million (~ $ 555.9 million) through a non-recourse financing agreement. The refinancing covered 858 MW of operating solar assets and included provisions for 650 MW of storage. The financing was signed with BNP AM, Banco Santander, Banco Sabadell, Export Development Canada and Banco Cooperativo, with Banco Santander and Astris Finance acting as advisors. The funds were used to refinance photovoltaic plants operating in Andalusia, Aragon, and Extremadura. The transaction was structured as a green loan and allowed the integration of battery energy storage systems within the financing framework. The assets were held by a company owned by Bruc Energy and Interogo. The structure included an accordion facility enabling future financing of co-located BESS projects under hybrid PPA arrangements.
