Azerbaijan based bp has sold a 10% stake in Shafag Jabrayil Solar Limited (SJSL) to MVM Energetika Zrt. (MVM). Following the transaction, the project’s ownership structure stands at bp 40.01%, SOCAR Green 39.99%, Azerbaijan Business Development Fund (ABDF) 10%, and MVM 10%. The 240 MW Shafag solar project in Jabrayil is currently under construction, with completion is scheduled for  2027 and up to 400 jobs expected at peak activity. The facility is linked to the Sangachal terminal electrification (STEL) project through a virtual power transfer arrangement. This setup will allow the terminal to connect to the national grid operated by AzerEnerji using new infrastructure, including a 220/110 kV substation.
