UK headquarters BOOM Power secured planning approval for Fenwick Solar Farm in South Yorkshire. The project is located east of Fenwick near Askern, Moss, Topham and Sykehouse. It includes a large-scale solar PV development with a co-located BESS. Once operational, it is expected to generate electricity for around 75,000 homes annually. The approval followed full Development Consent Order process including statutory consultation and examination by the Planning Inspectorate. Fenwick Solar Farm will connect to the National Electricity Transmission System via Thorpe Marsh Substation. The design includes habitat creation, biodiversity net gain and continued agricultural use through sheep grazing. BOOM Power will now progress the project to the next development stages. The delivery phase is expected to support local employment opportunities.
