BNZ, an independent power producer (IPP) backed by Nuveen Infrastructure, has inaugurated three solar plants in Almería. The Ventura, Terrera and Hornosol plants have a combined capacity of 150 MW. The company said that the facilities were expected to cut 48,873 tons of CO₂ annually. A fourth plant, Alhamilla, was scheduled to lift its Almería capacity to 182 MW. BNZ’s portfolio in Spain now includes nine operational plants across several regions. The company also has projects in Italy and Portugal as part of its wider European expansion. The Almería developments has created local jobs and were supported by biodiversity measures such as ecological corridors and wildlife shelters. BNZ was recognised with the Premio Verde Andaluz and supported cultural and social initiatives in the province.
