Germany based BayWa r.e. and its Dutch subsidiary GroenLeven completed the sale of the 46 MW Skûlenboarch Floating-PV project. The facility was identified as the largest floating solar project in the Netherlands. Once built, the project is expected to supply electricity to more than 15,500 households. Ownership was transferred to the local energy cooperative Enerzjyk Skûlenboarch, supported by the Friesland Clean Energy Fund and the municipality. The floating-PV system was planned on inland water, enabling solar generation without additional land use and improving performance through natural water-based cooling. Community facilities, including a mountain bike trail and a fishing pier, were incorporated around the site.
