AXIAN Energy, an arm of the pan-African AXIAN Group has signed an MoU with Chad’s Ministry of Energy and Water to build a 100 MW solar plant with a 50 MWh storage system in N’Djamena. Green Energy Solutions is partnering on the project’s construction and operation. The plan was to described as improving access to reliable and affordable electricity for local households. AXIAN Energy said that the plant is expected to generate over 180 GWh each year, which could serve more than 150 000 homes. The project was also expected to cut nearly 120 000 tons of CO₂ annually. The partnership was presented as supporting Chad’s efforts to expand its modern energy infrastructure.
