France based AFRIGREEN Debt Impact Fund and BGFIBank have signed a €28 million (~ $33.06 million) loan agreement for SOLEN SA. The financing supports the first phase of the Plaine Ayémé solar plant located about 30 km from Libreville, Gabon. This phase includes 30 MW solar facility with 8 MWh of battery storage. The overall project is planned as 60 MW photovoltaic plant with 30 MWh of storage, developed in two phases. It operates under 25-year power purchase agreement with the Gabonese state. SOLEN states it signed a separate 25-year fixed-price PPA for 120 MW (AC) with Société d'Énergie et d'Eau du Gabon. RGREEN INVEST manages AFRIGREEN. The project is described as Gabon’s first large-scale solar plant integrating storage.
