ACWA Power, a Saudi-based developer, investor, and operator of power generation has started operations at three solar power plants in Saudi Arabia, totaling 2.79 GW capacity. The company has received an initial commercial operation certificate for the 1,425 MW Al Kahfah project in the Hail region. At the Ar Rass 2 project in Qassim, an initial certificate was issued for 1,000 MW out of its planned 2,000 MW capacity. In Riyadh, the second certificate was obtained for 365.7 MW, completing the 1,125 MW SAAD 2 PV project. ACWA Power holds a 50.1 percent stake in each of these three plants. The projects were officially announced in filings to the Saudi stock exchange. Their financial impact is expected to be reflected in the company’s H2 2025 results.
