Spain-based renewable energy producer ACCIONA Energía has strengthened its Italian solar portfolio through recent auction allocations. The company has secured 151 MW in Italy’s FERX(Fonti Energetiche Rinnovabili – X) public renewable energy auction. FERX operates as Italy’s 20-year contract-for-difference framework, offering predictable revenues through regulated pricing. The secured capacity comprises the 100.8 MW Panbianco project and the 50.2 MW Benante solar project and are planned to be located in Siracusa province, Sicily. According to ACCIONA Energía, project construction is slated to commence in 2026, with operations targeted by end-2027. Collectively, the installations are expected to generate 277.5 GWh annually and avoid over 125,000 tons of CO₂ emissions.
