ABEI Energy, a Spanish IPP, has announced a financing agreement with BBVA to support a 246.72 MW portfolio. The projects include wind, solar PV and battery storage developments across Burgos, Zamora, Almería and Cádiz. The company said the portfolio is scheduled to reach commercial operation by early 2027. ABEI Energy has secured five long-term PPAs linked to these sites. Several projects are designed with hybrid features, including wind systems and collocated battery storage expected to operate in 2027. Company representatives said the financing was aligned with its wider utility-scale development strategy in Spain. BBVA noted that battery storage is expected to support additional renewable deployment nationwide. ABEI Energy has also acknowledged contributions from BBVA, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and DNV in completing the transaction.
