Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a leading Indian pharmaceutical company, and its subsidiary, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Limited, have signed a 22.78 MWp DC Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Sunsure Energy, a major renewable power producer in India. This partnership will provide Emcure and Gennova with approximately 36 million kWh of clean energy annually for their Pune plants. According to Emcure, this deal will fulfill around 67% of their power needs with green energy and reduce CO2 emissions by 29,765.71 metric tons per year. As part of the PPA, Emcure and Gennova will acquire a stake in Sunsure Solarpark Twelve Private Limited, under a group captive scheme in accordance with the Electricity Act, 2023. Sunsure will supply the power from its 150 MWp DC solar plant in Solapur, Maharashtra.
