Egypt Cement Group has partnered with Solarize Egypt to develop a 40 MW photovoltaic solar power project under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. With an investment of EGP 1.5 billion (~$29.51 million), the project will establish two solar plants serving Egypt Cement Group’s factories in Minya and Qena governorates, generating a total of 96 million kWh annually. This initiative will reduce reliance on traditional energy, lower carbon emissions, and improve operational sustainability. The partnership aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals to expand renewable energy use and minimize the environmental impact of heavy industries.
