Dominican Republic-headquartered EGE Haina has commenced operations at its Sajoma Solar Park. The Sajoma Solar Park is a state-of-the-art project, with a peak installed capacity of 80 MW. This has been the highest PV plant, located in the central Cordillera, 490 meters above sea level. The park is expected to generate 150,000 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to power 60,000 homes. The plant will help in avoiding the import of 210,000 barrels of oil and reduce CO₂ emissions by 90,000 tons each year. The facility is equipped with 123,100 bifacial solar panels and includes a substation and a 14.6-kilometer transmission line to strengthen the national electrical grid. With the EGE Haina now generates 466.5 MW of renewable energy.
