EDPR NA DG, a US-based solar energy developer, has recently completed two community solar projects, Morgan East and Morgan West, in Clay, New York, totaling 9.5 MW (AC). Located near Syracuse, these installations serve corporate offtakers such as PaperWorks Industries, QubicaAMF Worldwide, and Sabin Metal Corporation. As per EDPR NA DG, 60% of the energy generated will power residential and small business subscribers in upstate New York. The projects created 75 jobs during construction and injected $6.8 million into local businesses within a 50-mile radius. Additionally, EDPR NA DG expects the projects to contribute $12 million in payments to local governments, bolstering the regional economy. Currently, the company operates 58 MW (AC) of community solar and remote net metering projects, serving 41 corporate anchor tenants and 5,000 residential customers, with 15 MW (AC) in development across Maine, Massachusetts, and New York.
