EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge Inc., a leading North American energy infrastructure company, have initiated commercial operation of the 150 MWac Fox Squirrel Solar Phase 1. This project, comprising 1.4 million panels and 159 inverters, is the largest onshore renewable energy endeavor by EDF Renewables North America. Developed and owned in partnership with Enbridge, Fox Squirrel Solar addresses central Ohio’s rising power needs. The project involves nearly 400 skilled workers, peaking at 650 during Phase 1 construction. Amazon has secured PPA for the entire generation capacity, supporting its goal to achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2030. Upon completion of all three phases by the end of 2024, the 577 MWac project will rank among the largest utility-scale solar developments east of the Mississippi River.
