The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a loan of up to €31.6 million to Croatia-based Hrvatska Elektroprivredad.d. (HEP) to support the development of a 99 MW solar power plant. This project aligns with HEP's decarbonization strategy, which, as per HEP, is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 28,899 tons annually. Established in Croatia, HEP is a fully state-owned entity responsible for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as district heating and gas distribution across the nation. According to EBRD, the bank has invested over €4.7 billion in Croatia across 252 projects, with a majority dedicated to green economy initiatives.
