Duke Energy Progress is seeking approval from Public Service Commission of South Carolina (PSCSC) for a 76 MW solar power facility near Robinson Nuclear Plant in South Carolina's Chesterfield and Darlington counties. Expected to commence construction in 2026 on a 345-acre site, the facility aims to be operational by 2027, offering fuel-free power to the Pee Dee region. As a subsidiary of Duke Energy, Duke Energy Progress manages 12,500 MW of energy capacity, serving 1.7 million customers in North and South Carolina across a 29,000-square-mile area.
