China-based DAS Solar’s 70 MW fishery PV project in Hainan has passed TÜV Rhineland’s stringent onsite inspections. It excelled in appearance and EL-induced crack tests, demonstrating its resilience after surviving the level-17 super typhoon Yagi in 2024. The project utilizes the company’s fourth-generation flexible mounting system, featuring high ground clearance and large spans, tailored for diverse applications like fishery, agriculture, and desert control. The system’s pre-stressed design mitigates wind-induced vibrations and module damage. It withstood wind speeds up to 46 m/s (level-14 typhoon equivalent), validated by wind tunnel tests. This elastic structure minimizes deformation and extends module life, says DAS Solar. DAS Solar also handled design, construction, and installation for the project.
