Consumers Energy and Muskegon County’s Resource Recovery Center have joined to develop a 250 MW solar project. Expected to begin construction in April 2024 and be operational by 2026, this solar facility will provide renewable energy equivalent to powering approximately 40,000 homes. The project aligns with Consumers Energy’s goal of bringing 8,000 megawatts of solar capacity online by 2040. The project will be built on a 1,900-acre site owned by the Resource Recovery Center.
